8 Surprising Things David Schwimmer Has Done Post “Friends”

Since the beloved sitcom “Friends” ended back in 2004, most of the cast has remained quite visible to the public in a variety of new television projects and movies. Jennifer Aniston, who played Rachel Green, has, in particular, had a thriving movie career post-“Friends.” However, the one cast member who seems to have virtually disappeared off the face of the earth is David Schwimmer, who played goofy, shy paleontologist Ross Gellar.

Where has David Schwimmer disappeared to since 2004, and what has he been doing while in hiding? The answers might surprise you!

Courteney Cox Sort Of Hints That David Schwimmer Might Be The Reason Why There Hasn’t Been A Friends Reunion

Your Reaction?

Fucking Ross! Of course it would be his fault. It’s always Ross’ fault. During a recent interview with Yahoo, Courteney Cox was asked whether or not there might ever be a Friends reunion. Obviously the answer to that is no, because a reunion is only a reunion if you’re able to get all the former cast members together, and that would be impossible, since Monica’s old face has been MIA for several years now. But according to Courteney, it’s a no because there’s always someone who fucks it up, and no, it’s not that adorable bumbling oaf Joey. When asked about the possibility of a reunion, Courteney said:
“Dear lord, let it go, people. We’re not doing it. It’s just not going to happen….We’ve gotten about 80% there, but there’s always one person who flakes at the end.”
She was then asked if the name of the flake was David Schwimmer, and she answered:
“You know, I’m not going to name names, but it may not be Schwimmer.”
She then looked at the camera like “It’s totally fucking Ross.” It’s always Ross!

You know what? A Friends reunion can still happen without David Schwimmer; just grab a mopey-looking potato, put it in a blue sweater, and sit it beside a monkey – there, instant Ross. The only people who really matter are Monica, Rachel, Chandler, Joey, Joey’s hot slutty sister Gina, Phoebe, Ursula, the chick and the duck, Gunther, that dude who kept letting his balls hang out, and sexy DILF Jack Gellar (just me and Phoebe? Ok).

Speaking of a potato in a sweater, here’s David Schwimmer at an event with his wife and daughter last weekend. For someone who doesn’t want to do a Friends reunion, dude sure is dressed like he’s ready to drop everything and film one. Blue sweater? Check. Boot-cut jeans? Check. Ross hair? Check. Dopey “Hey Rach” face? Check.

‘Friends’ Reunion In The Cards? David Schwimmer And Matt LeBlanc Working Together Again

Friends reunion has been the dream of every fan since the show ended in May 2004. And these same Friends fans were on the edge of their seats when David Schwimmer, who played Ross Geller on the hit series, made an appearance on Matt LeBlanc’s show Episodes.

As Radio Times reported, the two former Friends act out a mini Friends reunion in a scene set at a birthday party for a fictional foreign dictator that was filled with llamas and drones. The two were discussing llamas and whether or not they should be kept as they were a gift from the fictional foreign dictator. It was a breath of fresh air to see the two acting together once again.

Friends fans got a brief taste of what it might be like to see a full-blown Friends reunion with all six cast members. Rumors have surfaced around the internet that there is a true Friends reunion in the works. It has been over 10 years since the show was last on the air, but it is having a resurgence with the full series now being available on Netflix.

Is there any truth to a possible Friends reunion? Unfortunately for Friends fans, it is looking quite unlikely. As reported by ABC News Los Angeles, Matt LeBlanc says that he doesn’t see a reunion happening anytime in the near future.
“I don’t see [a Friends reunion episode] happening either and I’ll tell you why. I think, you know how they always say the book is better than the movie? Friends was about a finite period of time in your life, like after college but before your life really started. And that was the magic of it, it was that point, that time in your life. It’s magical, you had no obligation, no responsibility, you’re free. To see what they’re doing now? Who wants to see, like, Chandler pushing the stroller around or at his kid’s softball game? Everyone’s kind of drifted apart in real life, so what would the story be and where would it take place? I think it’s better for people to imagine their own future for those characters than to see a scripted version of it.”
Actors Courteney Cox (Monica) and Lisa Kudrow (Phoebe) have both nixed the idea and have said they feel no one would be interested in seeing the aged characters.

According to Express UK, this is not the first time that cast members of Friends have staged an incomplete Friends reunion. Lisa Kudrow, Matthew Perry, and Jennifer Aniston have all made guest appearances on Courteney Cox’s Cougar Town.

In an article on the Huffington Post, Courteney Cox hinted that David Schwimmer was the one preventing the Friends reunion from taking place
“We’ve not really had a Friends reunion. We’ve gotten about 80 percent there, but there’s always one person who flakes at the end. I’m not going to name names, but it may not be Schwimmer.”
The six have not been in the same room together since 2004.

Friends fans, we know you want to see a Friends reunion, but don’t hold your breath waiting. Just make the most of seeing Joey and Ross together again on Episodes and Monica and the gang on Cougar Town.

The good news is that Friends is now on Netflix, which means a whole new generation gets to experience the laughter and witness the chemistry of six amazing Friends.

Courteney Cox Hints David Schwimmer Is The One Stopping A 'Friends' Reunion From Happening

It's been 11 years since "Friends" ended and fans have yet to get a full cast reunion. Who is responsible for causing such unforgivable heartbreak? Ross, of course.

During an interview with Yahoo, Courteney Cox was asked about the possibility of a "Friends" reunion. The actress said that the entire cast hasn't been in the same room together since the show ended in 2004.

"We’ve not really had a 'Friends' reunion," Cox said. "We’ve gotten about 80 percent there, but there’s always one person who flakes at the end." Then Cox playfully hinted that David Schwimmer is the one to blame. “I’m not going to name names, but it may not be Schwimmer," she teased.
Cox also insisted that a "Friends" movie isn't going to happen, saying, "Dear Lord, let it go people. We're not doing it." But she did joke that Monica would get her own spin-off. "Monica's going to do a movie, just not the whole 'Friends.'"

While we may not get a full-on "Friends" reunion for a while, if ever, we can at least cherish the mini ones that happen. Last week, Jennifer Aniston showed up at the Los Angeles premiere of Cox's directorial debut "Just Before I Go" for an adorable photo op. One step at a time, guys.
